George "Greg" Gregory Babson

George Gregory “Greg” Babson, 71, of Ash, NC passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center, Brunswick House, Bolivia, NC following a long illness.

Greg was born in Whiteville, NC on May 25, 1951, to Mrs. Alice Boswell Babson Long of Ash, NC and the late George Ferris Babson. In addition to his father, Greg is preceded in death by his stepfather Joseph Lee Long and a brother, Samuel Ricky “Sammy” Babson.

Greg was a lifelong logger and was retired from JWS Logging. He was also a longtime member of New Britton Baptist Church.

Surviving are his high school sweetheart and loving wife of fifty-one years Carol Milligan Babson; his mother, Alice Long; a son, Rodney D. Babson; grandchildren, Kimberly B. Dale and husband Brett Michael Dale, Tiffany “Sara” Lynn Babson; great grandchild, Ella Leighann Dale; a brother, Randy Lane Babson and wife Sabrina Bennett Babson; a sister, Deborah “Debbie” Babson Meadows and husband Dale; a sister in law, Paula Simmons Babson; nieces and nephews, David Babson, Robert Babson, William Babson, Ricky Babson, Bradley Babson, and Staci Meadows.

Memorial services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in the New Britton Baptist Church with The Reverend Sterling Sarvis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12 Noon at the church and other times from the home.
