George Harrison Thompson

George Harrison Thompson, age 94, of Supply, NC passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

George was born in Burlington, NC on March 9, 1930, and was a son of the late Luther and Louella Payne Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Thompson.

George was a proud US Air Force veteran and was retired as a supervisor both from Holt Hosiery and Temptation Hosiery (now Sarah Lee).

Surviving are his loving wife Faye Long Thompson of the home; their children, Kathy Bates of Leland, NC, Ricky Thompson of Buckhead, GA; grandchildren, Brian Shively of Hampstead, NC, Stephanie Shively of Leland, NC, Natalie Thompson of Florida, Carly Ervin of Buckhead, Georgia,  Christy Evans of Florida; great grandchildren, Khloe Shively, Axel Shively both of Leland, Lily Shively of Hampstead, NC, Gage Thompson of Florida, and Archer Ervin of Buckhead, Georgia; step-children, Vicky Scott of Lumberton, NC, Susan Wagman of Parkton, NC; six step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

Inurnment services will take place in Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, NC at a later date.
