Garland Gene Fields, Jr.

Garland Gene Fields, Jr. 65, of Carolina Shores, NC formerly of Goldsboro, NC passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at his home following a time of declining health.

Born in Richmond, VA, on January 17, 1960, Gene was one of four children born to the late Garland G. Fields, Sr., and Linda Hooks Fields. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Fields.

Gene was retired from Ex-Cell Home Fashions after over forty-one years of service. Following retirement Gene and Stasia, his soulmate and wife of 46 years moved to Carolina Shores where he took up golf and became a regular around the local courses. He was also a dedicated volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels.

Surviving are his loving wife, Stasia G. Fields; two sons, Jason and wife Jenny of Savannah, GA, Michael and wife Vanessa of Durham, NC; and two sisters, Jennifer Fields, Kim Keel and husband Bryant.

In keeping with his wishes, his life will be celebrated with a private memorial service at sea.

The family respectfully requests that donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
