Ernest L. Toth passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick in Bolivia, NC. He was 96.
Ernie was born on March 20, 1929 in Newark, NJ, the son of the late Ernest and Helen Toth. He grew up in Bloomfield, NJ, graduated Bloomfield High in 1947, then joined the U.S. Marine Corps, earning the rank of staff sergeant. He made his career in specialty printing, starting in production, then production management, and finally, sales. He was a family man, with three children, and several grandchildren. He enjoyed sports, tracking the stock market, golf and traveling, often with family. He grew up and spent his working years in New Jersey, then retired to Hilton Head, SC, and finally, Calabash, NC.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Toth; by his son Lawrence Toth, his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughter Megan Livingston of WV; by his daughter, Jolyn Newman, of Norfolk, VA; by his grandsons Kelly and Matthew Newman of Raleigh, NC; by his brother Leslie Toth of Silver Spring, MD; by his stepson Randy Estok of Lavalette, NJ; and by his stepson Ryan Estok, his wife Jessica, and their sons Jessie and Dylan of Middletown, DE. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Toth; and by Jolyn’s husband, Luke.
Presentations and memorial service will be on September 20, 2025 at 10:00am in the SECU Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane SE, Bolivia, NC 28422.
