Elmer McCoy

Elmer McCoy, age 78, of Supply, NC passed away at his home with family holding his hands on Friday, October 20, 2023 after a time of declining health.

Elmer was born in Narrows, Virginia on December 29, 1944, and was a son of the late Roy Everett and Mary Falls McCoy. In addition to his parents, Elmer was predeceased by siblings, Everett “Buddy” McCoy, Roy McCoy, Roscoe McCoy, Vince P. McCoy, Douglas L. McCoy, Hazel M. Cleveland, sister-in-law, June McCoy and a grandchild, Crystal McCoy-Santiago.

Besides having Charm, Good Looks and an awesome personality. Elmer was a proud US Navy veteran and served on the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) during the Vietnam war. He was also a retired Over the Road truck driver. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Luther Rice College and Seminary in Stonecrest, GA and was a dedicated member of Highest Praise Church. 

Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Phyllis C. McCoy; sons, Kyle E. McCoy and wife Vivian, Keith E. McCoy, Jim Rabon; daughters, Kimberly E. Clovis, and husband Chip, Karen E. Drumm and husband Daniel, Gina Rabon, Twyla G. McCoy; brother, Joseph McCoy; a sister, Carol Phelps and husband Gene; seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in the Highest Praise Church with Pastor Sherwood Lancaster officiating.
