Eleanor (Hargreaves) Heist

Eleanor H. Heist, age 98, of Supply, NC formerly of The Willows, Oxford, FL passed away on Thursday the twenty third of July 2020 at her home after an extended illness.

Born in Ardmore, PA on the fifteenth of October 1921, Eleanor was a daughter of the late Harold and Martha Barclay Hargreaves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Heist in 2008 and several siblings.

After employment as a nurse and flight insurance sales in Miami, FL, she served as house mother at Nelle Smith Home for Girls, West Palm Beach, FL. She enjoyed many relationships that she nurtured with the ladies there up until her passing. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruises where many friends were made. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and ability to find friends wherever she went.

Surviving are her two sons, Ray Carstens and wife Judy of Supply, NC, Roger Carstens and wife Barbara of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Denny Ray Carstens, Roger Dean Carstens and wife Melissa and great grandchildren, Izabella Carstens, Rowan Carstens, Kaeli Carstens, Reagan Carstens and William Carstens.

Services for Mrs. Heist will be private.
