Edward Paul Youngberg (February 25, 1944– December 31, 2023)
Edward (Ed) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away at the age of 79 on Sunday, December 31st surrounded by his family following a long illness. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Maynard and Martha Youngberg.
Pam met the love of her life, Ed in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married at their home in Denville, NJ in September of 1990.
Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Ann and survived by his daughters Rebecca (Chris) and Belinda (Joe).
Ed and Pam were blessed with four grandchildren, Sheana Youngberg, Camela Keay (JR), Joey (Kati) Wilson, Austin (Mackenzie) Wilson and 10 great grandchildren.
Ed and Pam have a loving family including surviving sister, Cynthia Cosden, sister-in-law, Donna Tucker (Kevin), surviving brothers Richard (Corinne), Len (Lawanna) and many nieces and nephews that were dear to him. He is predeceased by brothers Maynard (Shirley) and Robert (Leah).
Ming and Jade were their beloved pets. Ed also enjoyed pet sitting for grand cat Rocket.
Ed was very passionate about his career as an Information Systems Executive. He worked for RCA and RJR (Sealand) and retired from Prudential in 2005 to start his own business with Pam called Tranquility Systems LLC providing IT services and consulting. One of his most notable accomplishments was writing the programing for the State of New York for Y2K and obtaining his Certification in Project Management from Stanford University.
Ed had two Business Degrees from Saint Joseph's University, a top-ranked Catholic University in Philadelphia and a master’s in business from Saint Joseph’s University.
Ed was an avid Philadelphia sports fan following the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies sport teams. He loved to play golf with his wife, brother Richard and sister-in-law Corinne. Pam and Ed moved to Ocean Isle in 2003 to enjoy the beach life in Brick Landing Plantation.
