Edward T Sager

Edward T Sager, age 79, of Calabash, NC passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care, Wilmington, NC following an extended illness.

Edward was born in Cornwall, NY, on January 8, 1945, and was a son of the late Edward and Theresa Frew Sager. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew J. “Andy” Sager, Richard Sager; a granddaughter, Marissa Romeo, and a sister-in-law Barbara Sager.  

Edward was a retired master electrician with the IBEW Local 363. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially going to stock car races at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY and going to casinos. Edward enjoyed listening to oldies  music and other songs, like Miss You Like Crazy, So this is Love, Key Largo, and Have I Told You Lately That I Love You and others. More recently he was a member of the Calabash VFW Post 7288, and the Calabash Elks Lodge # 2679. Edward was also very active in the Oceanside Place Community, where he was a board member and could often time be found using his skills in maintenance in the community.

Surviving are his loving wife of  fifty years, Barbara Widdows Sager of Calabash; children, Dione Romeo (Joe), Trina Naclerio (David), (their late mother was Cheryl Rhoades), Keith Sager (April), Karl Sager (Gina); two brothers, Robert Sager, John Sager (Carole); sisters-in-law, Debbie Sager, Gertrud Sager; grandchildren, Joey (Shelly), Tommy, Rachel, Sophia, Dylan, Chase, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service is being planned for the summer in New York.
