Earl Edward Hammett, Jr., age 63 of Oak Island, NC passed away on Saturday the twenty sixth of June 2021 in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center after a brief illness. Earl was born in Tacoma, WA on the twenty-sixth of January 1958 and was a son of the late Edward Earl and Judy Hammett. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his sister, Gabriella. Earl enjoyed fishing and loved playing golf. He was a US Navy veteran, where he was a crewman aboard several submarines. Earl was also a painter and has worked in the Southport and Oak island areas for twenty-one years.

Surviving are his longtime companion, Laura "Charlie" Vondell of Oak Island; a son, Orion Wolfe of Tacoma, WA and two grandchildren.
