Duane Carl “Batch” Batchelor, Jr., 89, of Supply, NC passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at his home with his adoring family at his bedside.
Duane was born in Albany, NY on August 22, 1935, and was a son of the late Duane C. Batchlor, Sr. and Ruth Williams Batchelor.
He was a proud US Navy veteran and a Navy SEAL while serving in Korea.
He was known as “Batch” or “Batchman” to all those who knew him.
He was a Property manager/General manager for several companies in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. His passion in life was softball. He played for well over 60 years between his career in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. He played travel/tournament ball all over the country as well. He was a wonderful coach and teammate. He loved to go fishing in Canada with his wife. He also made time for his grandchildren he loving called “The Rugrats.”
Surviving are his beloved wife, Jill Ann Wood Bricklemyer; a daughter, Hollie (Chris) Haizlip; a sister, Arlene Batchelor; and two grandchildren, Liam and Ava Haizlip.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
The family requests with gratitude that donations be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior’s Project, or to the Brunswick County Senior (65+) Softball League,
