Dr. Khamnung Thirakomen, 80, of Calabash, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025 in the gentle and loving care of the Lower Cape Fear Lifecare, “Brunswick House.”
He is survived by his wife, three children, and five grandchildren.
Born in Thailand, on April 21, 1944, he was the eldest son of the late Boon and Loi Fung Thirakomen.
He completed his medical school at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand followed by a Fellowship in Internal Medicine-Nephrology at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Dr. Thirakomen was a member of the Calabash Covenant Presbyterian Church and was an avid tennis player.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Calabash Covenant Presbyterian Church.
