Dorothy "Dottie" Joan (Cifarelli) Hoffmann

Dorothy Joan “Dottie” Hoffmann, age 100, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Wednesday, the tenth of August, 2022 in Brunswick Health & Rehabilitation, Ash, NC.

“Dottie”, as she was affectionately known to so many people, was born in Queens, NY on the seventeenth of November, 1921, and was one of seven children born to the late Joseph and Concetta Russo Cifarelli. Dottie was preceded by all of her siblings; her loving husband Albert A. Hoffmann in 2007 and a grandson Justus Guidice.

“Dottie” was a charter member of St Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, a member of the St Brendan Columbiettes and a charter member of the Calabash VFW Post 7288, where she was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary where she served as treasurer for many years. She was also a 30 year volunteer at Brunswick Community Hospital and even after it became Novant Medical. 

Surviving are her beloved children, Albert J. Hoffmann and wife Cheyanne of Delhi, NY, Lorraine Hoffmann of Shallotte, and Dorrie H. Mascolo and husband Anthony of Shallotte; grandchildren, James, Nathan, Eric, Danielle, Kristin, Scott & Theresa; and six great grandchildren.

The family will have a time of visitation from three o’clock until five o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the fourteenth of August, 2022 at the Shepherd Assembly Church, 6720 Old Shallotte Road, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469.

A Mass of Christian Burial funeral service will be held at ten o’clock in the morning Monday the fifteenth of August, 2022 at St Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
