Donald Edward Walker

Donald "Don" Edward Walker, 90, of Calabash, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2023.

Don was born on January 19th, 1933 to Logan Edward and Dorothy Marie Walker (née Kobel) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Don attended the University of Denver, graduating in 1957. After finishing school, Don moved to Parsons, Kansas, opening an architectural firm that designed residential and commercial buildings - including his parents' home.

Don was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy and father Logan. He is survived by his wife Marilynn Nye, to whom he was married for 25 years.

They met line dancing in Sunset Beach, North Carolina, and shared a home in Calabash, North Carolina. Don and Marilynn also shared a love of art and creativity, Don in wood carving and Marilynn in painting. Marilynn often painted the wood carvings Don sculpted, bringing the creations to life.

Don is survived by three sons he shared with Frieda Marie Walker (née Jabben), Daniel Edward, David Alan, and Michael James. He is also survived by six grandchildren (Crystal Erin Walker, Danielle Marie Walker, Ashton Dey Hunt (née Walker), Nicole Rosemarie Walker, Natalie Janelle Walker, and Kassie Sloan Walker) and two great-grandchildren (Delaney and Romy Hunt). Additionally, Don is survived by Marilynn's son Mark Andrew Everett and grandchildren Madison River and Caleb Nye Everett.

Services will be held at Bonaparte Baptist Church (9031 Shady Forest Dr SW, Calabash, North Carolina, 28467) on March 26th, 2023 at 4:00 pm.
