David L. “DL” Fulford

David L. “DL” Fulford (aka, Pappy) age, 86 of Ash, NC passed away on Thursday the fifteenth of July 2021 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Brunswick County, NC on the third of February 1935 to the late Reverend Isaiah and Mary Hewett Fulford. In addition to his parents, DL was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin Fulford, Otis Fulford, Elwood “Woody” Fulford and a sister, Estelle Hewett.

DL was a US Army veteran, an engineer for numerous dredging companies and lastly was retired from CP&L as a crane operator. He was a member of Faith Full Gospel Church, Ash, NC and the Shallotte Masonic Lodge 727, AF & AM.

Surviving are his  loving wife of 54 years, Olive Inman Fulford; a son, Jeremy Fulford of Ash; two daughters, Jennifer Fulford (Tony) of Ash, Karen F. Moore (Shane) of Nakina; a sister-in-law, Cecile Fulford of Shallotte; grandchildren, Brittany (Brad), Brandon (Colleen), Jonathan (Sadryne), Lindsey (Doogie), Rebecca, Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Emma, Oaklynn, Trey, Bentley and Josiah who is due to arrive in November; and his beloved canine companion “Dolly”.

Funeral services will be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday the Eighteenth of July 2021 in the Faith Full Gospel Church, 2114 Whiteville Road, Ash, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Supply.
