David Earl McKenzie

David Earl McKenzie, 74, of Shallotte, NC passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Born in Moore County, NC on June 16, 1951, David was a son of the late Donald Hugh and Ruby Patton McKenzie. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his first wife, Linda McKenzie and a brother, Larry McKenzie.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Catherine F. McKenzie; daughters, Renee Minor, Suzanne Brown (Joey), Step daughter, Laura Dunn (Timmy), Step son, John Singleton; brothers, Doug McKenzie (Melissa), Richard McKenzie (Cathy); four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Community Friends Church in Carthage, NC.  Visitation will follow after the service in the church fellowship hall.  A private burial will be held at a later time.
