David Cary

It is with profound sadness that we announce David Cary, age 70, of Leland, NC passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Lower Cape Fear Life Care, “Brunswick House” following a strong battle against cancer. 

David was born in Stuttgart, Germany on January 22, 1955 and was one of seven children born to the late Thurman and Rose Cary. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by siblings, Beverley Kuwano, Thurman Cary Jr., Nancy Haggard, Stephen Cary and his feline fur baby, “Jack”. 

Surviving are his two loving daughters, Josie V. Carter and husband Austin Carter, Sr., Julie K. Cary; Mother of his daughters, Ela D. Cary; two sisters, Deborah Anderson and husband Michael Anderson and Martha Long; three beloved grandchildren, Lucas, Vera and Austin, Jr. His love of animals was known to all who loved David, he was also survived by canine best friend, “Beau” who rarely ever left his side.

His pride and joy are his daughters and grandchildren. David will be deeply missed and forever loved. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, goofy laughter, and sincere family values. 

To honor his wishes, celebration of life services will be private.
