Daniel Kelly Shane, 61, of Bolivia, NC, (Sunset Harbor Community), passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
Kelly was born in Meigs County, Ohio on November 20, 1962 and was a son of the late Ruth Capeheart Shane Thompson and Daniel Shane, of Sunset Harbor, NC. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lee Shane in April of 2022.
Everyone who knew Daniel Shane called him Kelly Shane. He was a jack of many traits. He spent years working on shrimp boats, dredge, construction, building houses, and anything you could think of. He never met a single stranger. If you knew him; he was instantly family. Kelly lived a life of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. If he received a phone call for help, he instantly would drop everything to help, it didn't matter if you was family, friend, or even a stranger at a gas station. He touched many hearts and will be greatly missed by a lot of people.
Surviving are a daughter, Tabitha S. Holley and husband Joshua of Shallotte; a daughter-in-law, Stacey Shane of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Leah Shane, Jacob Holley, Chance Padfield, Joshua Holley, Harrison Holley, Wyatt Shane, Ashlynn Shane, Ayauna Orizu, Xaven Castro; a step-father, Jackie Thompson of Sunset Harbor; siblings, Mikeal Shane, Timmy Shane, Teresa Shane, Heather Crane and husband Aric Crane, Leonard Conrad, Patrick Thompson (Denika); Kelly had many close friends who he considered family, sadly there are too many to mention here.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Friday, March 22, 2024 in the Faith Community Chapel, 2811 Sunset Harbor Road, SE, Bolivia, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A time of visitation with the family will be from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
