Dale (Smith) Kirk

Mrs. Dale Smith Kirk, 74, of Ash, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, with her family by her side at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, “Brunswick House,” following a time of declining health.

Dale was born in Richmond County, NC on March 8, 1952, and was a daughter of the late Henry and Kathleen Dunn Smith. In addition to her parents, Dale was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Kirk.

Dale was the heart of her family. She loved her grandchildren more than anything in this world, and they were truly her greatest joy. Some of the most special moments in her life were simply being surrounded by them. She had a deep love for cooking and showed her love through the meals she made. Whether it was a big family gathering or something simple, she made sure no one ever left her home hungry. Her home was always filled with warmth, good food, and love. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, and no one ever left her presence without feeling cared for. She also loved the beach and found peace and happiness near the water. Dale had the kindest and most giving soul. She was always there for others, always putting everyone before herself, and never expecting anything in return. Her love was constant, selfless, and something that will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Surviving are a daughter, Sally Hardee of Shallotte; a sister, Donna Brewer; her best friend and sister at heart, Kay Adams; stepchildren, Richard Kirk, Ricky Kirk, and Judy Kirk Lambert; three grandchildren, Logan McKeithan, Natalie Hardee, Summer Kirk (Dakota Locklear); and three great-grandchildren, Liam Nguyen, Colton Locklear, and Waylon Locklear.

To honor her wishes, a private celebration of life service will be held by her family.

She is now at peace, resting in the arms of the Lord, reunited with loved ones who went before her.
