Curtis Andre Rayl, Jr., age 64, of Bolivia, NC passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Lower Cape Fear Lifecare in Bolivia, NC surrounded by his family.
Curtis was born in West Palm Beach, FL on April 7, 1961, but spent most of his life in Brunswick County, NC. He was a skilled carpenter and worked alongside his dad and brothers for many years. He was a certified animal waste operator for the last 18 years until he retired in 2024, where he worked alongside his daughter for many years.
Curtis collected many trophies for drag racing his Ford Mustang. He enjoyed drag racing with and against his dad. They spent many hours working on each other’s cars. His main love was flounder fishing; he participated in the King Mackerel Tournament for many years. He shared his love of fishing with his daughter Kim and her husband Charlie, his brothers Timmy and Jeff. Curtis was a kind man, who would give you the shirt off his back. He was best known for the way he cooked, especially his Fish!
Curtis is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Rayl Sr, grandparents Price and Ella Rayl, Bernice and Florence Brown and a niece Brittany Rayl, and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
He leaves behind his mother Betty Rayl, one son, Curtis and wife Brittany, one daughter, Kim and husband Charlie, Six Grandchildren, Michael (Lexie) Crystal, Tiffany, Jenny, Theodore and Benjamin. And his first great grandson due in June2026.
He also leaves behind three brothers, Andy (Debbie) Timmy (Marg) and Jeff (Sissy) and one sister, Tammy (Joe) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and two aunts.
Memorial services will be at 2 pm on Saturday, January 24th 2026, at Antioch Baptist Church, Midway Rd, Bolivia, NC.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
The family will gather at his mother’s residence in Bolivia, NC
