Chester Bojanowski Obituary

Chester John “Chet” Bojanowski, age 74, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away on Sunday the twenty- sixth of September 2021 in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Bolivia, NC.

Chet was born in Washington, PA on the twenty-second of January 1947 to the late Chester J. Bojanowski, Sr., and Regina Jankowski Bojanowski.

A graduate of Canon-McMillan High School (’64), Canonsburg, PA, Chet then attended the University of Mt. Union (’68), Alliance, OH where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and later graduated from Miami University (’72), Oxford, OH with his MBA in Finance. He attended Officers Candidate School and was commissioned in the US Navy in 1968, serving proudly on the USS Little Rock (Gaeta, Italy) and on the USS Biddle (Norfolk, VA).

Chet had a strong business and financial background of over 40 years. An entrepreneur in various areas of the oil business as well as in commercial real estate added to leadership skills developed while serving in the US Navy and during his 8 years with Marathon Oil Company. God has used these gifts as a source of strength and wisdom for Chet’s ministry at church and through For His Glory Ministries & Bible College, where he served as VP and Treasurer since its founding in 1998.

Chet was a man with a strong faith in Jesus Christ and was active at both Brookfield Assembly of God (Brookfield, WI) and at New Beginnings Community Church (Shallotte, NC).  God turned Chet’s heart toward the mission field when he served on construction trips to build churches and schools in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, and El Salvador.  He was also a vital part of the FHG teams to Guatemala, Russia, Kyrgystan, Zambia, and Kenya.  At New Beginnings, Chet served on the Finance and Missions committees, joined the ramp-building projects, and loved planning the logistics and activities of each and every mission trip to Puebla, Mexico. More recently, his heart was turned toward The Lord’s Miracle Acre project at NBCC to feed insecure families through local food pantries and Brunswick Senior Resources.

In addition to spending quality time with his family, some of his other loves included: planning fishing trips to Canada and ski trips to Copper Mountain, CO; golf, beach, boating, vacations in Cancun, and cruises to about anywhere.

Surviving are his loving wife of fifty-two years, Dr. Kathleen Cassidy Bojanowski, Th.D., two sons: Brian Bojanowski and wife Wendi of Rock Hill, SC, and Dan Bojanowski and wife Erika of Republic, MO; eight precious grandchildren: Peace, Blake, Josiah, Wyatt, Jubilee, Solomon, Reuben and Immanuel Bojanowski.
