Carol Roberts Obituary

Carol Ann Roberts, age 79, of Carolina Shores and formerly of Charlotte, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 21, 2025, in the McLeod Seacoast Hospital, Little River, SC.

Carol Ann was born in Mexico, Missouri, on November 17, 1946 and was a daughter of the late Grover C. and Anna Elizabeth Minter Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Jimmy Roberts.

Carol was a retired Registered Dental Hygienist and was proudly elected President of the North Carolina Dental Hygienists’ Association (NCDHA).  Carol Ann was also a committed officer on her HOA Board for many years in her Chalcombe Court Community, Charlotte. She enjoyed summers, sitting poolside at the complex with her family and friends.  Carol Ann married young and had one child, Jeff, and she celebrated his accomplishments. At a Greek festival in the early 1980’s she met Bunny, who became the love of her life. Carol Ann loved her cars, and with Bunny beside her, they traveled the coast and the mountains.  Visiting her sister and her son and their families brought her great pleasure as she embraced her time with family. Jeff, her only son, was the apple of her eye and time with him was precious. Carol Ann was big sister to Debbie and in spite of their age differences, they were so very connected, speaking daily about navigating life’s joys and challenges. Throughout her many years living in Charlotte, Carol Ann blessed and was blessed by many strong and supportive relationships with friends, golfing regularly and frequently enjoying the Arts together or just dining and socializing within their homes and their community.  Carol Ann had a quiet presence at all social activities and her personality was engaging.  She was consistent in her love for her friends and family, and her warm laugh brought much pleasure to any event.  She loved and was loved by all who knew her.

Surviving are her spouse, Mary “Bunny” Patelos; a son Jeffrey L. Preslar;  a sister, Debbie Phillips; niece, Libby Spears and her husband, Brian, and their children, Mason and Ella; nephew, Cannon and his wife, Kathleen, and their children, Cooper and Kieran.  Carol Ann adored her two grandchildren, Dustin and Lacee.  She was a very proud great grandmother of Graham and Sutton and was awaiting, at the time of her passing, the arrival of her third great grandson, Griffin.

A Celebration of life Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in the Shepherd Assembly Church, with The Reverend Ronald Long officiating.
