Carol Lentine Obituary

Carol Lynn Lentine

January 28, 1947 – March 23, 2025

Carol Lynn Lentine, 78, of Calabash, NC, formally from Hunterdon County NJ, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at her home. Carol was surrounded by her loving family, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Somerville, New Jersey, Carol was one of six children. She was pre deceased by her parents Paul and Rose Schmidt Sisco as well as her siblings Betty Rose Ewald, Dave Sisco, James Sisco, and Bernie Sisco. A longtime active member of Southridge Community Church in Clinton, NJ, she most recently attended Beulah Baptist Church in Calabash, NC. As a registered nurse, Carol dedicated many years to caring for others.  She was an esteemed colleague of the staff at Hunterdon Medical Center for more than 20 years.

Carol was a dear and precious friend to many.  Her “super-power” was staying in touch with others and letting them know they matter and that she cares. She was a beautiful, rare soul whose wisdom, strength, and faith illuminated every room she entered. She embodied God’s unwavering goodness and was a light in the darkness. Throughout her life, she illustrated kindness in her roles as a nurse, friend, and family member. Patient and compassionate, she was always ready to listen and uplift others, offering prayers, encouragement, and positivity.  There was always space at her dinner table to share a meal, a laugh, a book or discuss a profound thought.

Her love for God was evident in everything she did, demonstrating His love through her actions and heart. She frequently reminded her family of the importance of love and forgiveness, often suggesting that when upset, they should bake a cake and reconcile—a lesson by which we all benefit!

Carol’s presence brought peace, calming the saddest of hearts with her comforting words and insights. She showed us that a life rooted in faith offers eternal peace and that the love of God is the greatest gift we can share. Her legacy of love, wisdom, kindness and faithfulness was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Carols greatest joy came from sharing life with her loving husband Frank and their family.  Carol was lovingly known by her “Grands” as “Nina”, a title she was honored to bear. Each one knew how precious they were to her.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Frank M. Lentine; daughter Christy Lentine; son Tom Lentine and wife Gwen; brother Paul Sisco;

grandchildren Cody Lentine, Ben Lentine, Emmalie Moyer and husband Luke, Hallie Petrie and husband Shemar, Ben Roberts, Ian Roberts, and Nathan Roberts; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Jackson Lentine.
