Carmine John Zecchino, Jr.

Carmine John Zecchino, Jr., 79, of Bolivia, NC formerly of Wayne, NJ passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center, Bolivia, NC following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Carmine was born in Newark, NJ on August 29, 1944, and was the only child of the late Carmine John Zecchino and Margaret Zecchino Berski.

Carmine was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a longtime employee of Pathmark Stores and retired after 37 years as an Assistant Store Manager.

Carmine was an avid LA Dodger, LA Laker, and Green Bay Packer fan. He bowled during his spare time on a bowling league for a majority of his life, making many good friends. Over the years Carmine developed many great friendships through work and church, some that turned into family. He was a selfless, caring, loving and generous man, who always helped and motivated others to become better. But most of all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Janice Wiatrak Zecchino; his children, Kara Bolt, Matthew Zecchino, Steven Zecchino; and three grandchildren, Dereck Bolt, Mackenzie Bolt and Blake Zecchino.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport, NC.
