Captain Jimmy Douglas Galloway
Captain Jimmy D. Galloway went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. He was a loving and caring husband to Ruby for sixty-one years. Jimmy was an amazing father and Papa who loved and enjoyed his grandbabies. Captain Jimmy loved being on the waters in his shrimp boat or skiff. He enjoyed hunting and trapping in his younger days. He was one of the strongest men alive. Jimmy fought his illness all the way to the end and won.
Jimmy was a son of the late Carl and Ethel Varnam Galloway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Troy Kevin Galloway, grandsons, Shae Britt and Landen Carmichael and a brother, Gene Galloway.
Surviving are his beloved wife Ruby Rivenbark Galloway; their children, Mark Galloway and wife Lori, Felicia Varnum and husband Harold, Jr., Jeffrey Galloway and wife Sherrie, Misty Carmichael and husband Jack; grandchildren, Ashley Kuigre, Corey Galloway, Taylor Galloway, Justin Varnum, Elliott Varnum, Noah Varnum, Emma Varnum, Grace Galloway, Austin Galloway, Brianna Galloway, Chance Bordeaux, Tristan Bordeaux, Payton Bordeaux and Karley Carmichael. Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Karson & Kamden Galloway, Logan & Ally Kuigre, Sebastian & Hudson Galloway, Ava Galloway, Landen & Liam Bordeaux, Alayah Halsey-Batts, and Bryleigh & Braylee Varnum; siblings, Faye Galloway Edens, Ronnie Galloway and wife Sylvia, Gary Galloway and wife Judy, Maurice Galloway and wife Linda; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 in the afternoon on Monday, December 5, 2022 in the Dixon Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Austin, Corey, Taylor, Justin, Elliott, Noah, Tristan and Chance.
Honorary pallbearers will be, John Galloway, Terrance Galloway and Augusta Varnam.
