Brenda Cook, born on September 8, 1964, in Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away leaving behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and unconditional love. A beloved sister, devoted mother, and cherished aunt, Brenda was known for her gentle spirit and vibrant heart. She brought light into every room she entered, expressing her soul through painting, crafting, roller skating, and music. Brenda made hair bows for each girl in the family. She served as the family’s trusted hairdresser and inspired a generation of young artists by teaching her nieces and nephews how to draw. A loyal Tar Heels fan, she cheered as passionately for her team as she did for her family, always celebrating our accomplishments with heartfelt pride. Brenda’s hugs offered comfort, her smile left a lasting imprint, and her spirit was beautifully free. She never met a stranger.
Her legacy is one of color, and her spirit forever untamed.
Though her time here feels far too short, Brenda’s love endures, in the laughter of her children, the creativity of those she inspired, and the hearts she helped shape. We will carry her with us always, in the quiet moments and the joyful ones, forever grateful for the gift of her presence. May her soul find peace, and may her memory forever be a blessing.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Wesley-Weyman Methodist Church,
