Thomas B. Young III of Oak Island, NC, formerly of Cumming, GA, died on October 18, 2020 at the age of 90.

Tom was born in Hickory, NC and grew up in Monroe, NC. He was a graduate of Western Carolina University. He retired at age 76 as a manufacturer's representative to the marina industry where he made friends from coast to coast. Tom loved many things; his family, his friends, the Braves, college football, fast cars, good dogs (especially Dallas) and the Marine Corps. He was a friend of Bill W for 32 years. Tom was happiest telling stories to neighbors and friends alike. He imparted his wisdom to his children and grandchildren and was steadfast in his support of all their efforts. He was affectionately known as "Big Tom" to his grandkids and many nieces and nephews. He loved them all.

He was predeceased by his son, Michael G. Young and is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife Barbara of 66 years, his daughter, Lisa Miller (Don) of Andover, MA, his daughter-in-law Cheryl Young of Hendersonville, TN, grandchildren Kyle Miller(Molly), Betsy Zolla (Chris), Brian Young, Diana Spohn(DJ) and Lauren Miller and great grandchildren Eloise Miller, Dexter Spohn and Penelope Zolla.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
