Obituary

Thomas Edward Arnold, 63, of Williamsburg, VA formerly of Bolivia, NC passed away at his beloved family property (Arnold's Knob) in Bolivia, NC following a time of declining health.

Thomas was born in Frankfurt Germany on September 24, 1959, to the late CW3US Army Retired Frederick E. Arnold and Inge Bergner Arnold. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by Brothers-in-law, Albert Davis Beaube and Corpsman US Navy Retired Andrew "Andy" M. Albright.

Thomas was a lighthearted and friendly soul who, amid his anxiety and stubbornness, had the biggest heart of anyone you could meet. Ironically and unfortunately, the same heart that failed him in the end. He was an amazing horticulturist, accomplished guitarist, fiddler, songwriter, and a lover of all music and instruments. Attending live concerts and listening to all genres of music were a regular bonding experience between him and his family and friends. Thomas was an avid reader and lover of learning everything he could about life, the mind, religion and the complexities of how people become who they are. There are not many non-fiction books he hasn't read or YouTube documentaries he has not watched. He was our dreamer and had some amazing ideas and insights on life, government, being self-sufficient and living off of the land.

While at times he was a force to be reckoned with, he made many friends throughout his life between his Pagan beliefs, his love of music, his longtime neighbors, and in his local community. One of the biggest excitements in his life was to send surprise packages to his friends and loved ones to let them know he was thinking of them.

Surviving are his children, Catherine Coley (Shawn Robertson), Douglas Arnold (Sarah Gregory) and Barry "B-Dog"; Catherine and Douglas's mother, Sherry Leveille; sisters, Barbara Arnold Beaube, Brenda Arnold Albright (Lanny Richburg); grandchildren, Spencer Daniels and Douglas Daniels and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews throughout southern North Carolina, Virginia and Germany.

There will be a private family service held in the Galloway Memorial Cemetery, West, Supply, NC and a public memorial service held at a later date in Virginia.

Online condolences and shared memories are encouraged and may be sent to the family at www.fulwoodfuneralservice.com
