Steven DJuan Woods, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 13, 2024, after a period of declining health, at the age of 70. He was surrounded by his family at his home in Ash, North Carolina.
Born at Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune, NC on December 16, 1953, Steve was predeceased to parents Lee Roy Woods and Carrie Malcolm Floyd; stepfather, Burnett Reaves; and grandson, Cameron Hewett.
Steve and his devoted wife of 51 years, Barbara Ann Anderson Woods attended Saving Grace Full Gospel Church, Ash, NC.
He began his career with Norfolk Dredging Company in 1972, where he quickly advanced to the role of Foreman. He dedicated 34 years of hard work and leadership to the company before retiring, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
In his leisure time, Steven enjoyed fishing, dancing, indulging in good food, and most importantly, spending quality time with his beloved family and friends. He had a natural gift for storytelling and humor, always ready with a joke or a witty remark to brighten the mood.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Woods; a son, Steven DJuan Woods, Jr., (Dixie Lynn); three daughters, Stephanie W. Thomas, (Eric), Tiffaney B. Woods, (Christopher Barrentine), Carrie W. Osborne, (Eddie); a brother, James Woods; a sister, Donna Wheeler; seventeen grandchildren: Jeffrey, Nathan, Breanna, Jordan, Alissa, Mackenzie, Steven Gage, Emily, Savannah, Ryan, Brandon, Hannah, Madison, Nicholas, Shane, Taylor, Joseph (Bubba); and eight great-grandchildren: Olivia, Jayden, Jayla, Beckham, Brogan, Liam, Aubrey, and Kaylee.
Steven DJuan Woods will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family will forever be cherished.
Private family viewing will be conducted from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a public family and friends viewing from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in the Saving Grace Full Gospel Church, 6326 Churchside Trail, Ash, NC 28420. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery in Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Hewett, Jr., Joe Patawaran, Jr., Norley Woods, David Bullard, Brandon Clemmons, John Bland and Colin Bennett.
