Obituary

Ronald Nicholas Francis Stasiowski was born at home on Christmas Day 1937 during a good, old-fashioned Buffalo snowstorm. A noted Buffalo City high-school athlete and an ace softball fast-pitcher in the summer adult leagues, Ron passed some of his athletic talent to his three daughters, Cheri, Kathie and Sandi, for whom he excelled as an instructive, supportive and loving girl-Dad. He set the bar high for their husbands to follow and made sure they knew his expectations regarding proper treatment of his daughters.

Following graduation as valedictorian from Emerson Technical School, Ron began his career in the tool and die industry, learning on the job and earning many certifications along the way. He pursued his formal education on nights and weekends and eventually earned two industry-related associate degrees from Erie Community College. The bulk of his career was spent at Moog, Inc. as a manufacturing engineer.

An Eagle Scout, Ron exhibited a strong work ethic and steadfast love for his family. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior as an adult and lived out the call to witness and serve from that time on. He was an active and beloved member of Lancaster Presbyterian Church (NY) for more than 40 years, serving as a choir tenor, Sunday School teacher, Bible study leader, evangelist, Elder and more. He was most recently a member of Breath of Life Ministries, Sunset Beach (NC). Ron had a passion and thirst for God's Word and soaked in every opportunity to learn at the deepest levels because he was both hungry and wanted to help feed others to grow in faith.

His attention to detail, ability to fix anything (at his own home or countless others), steadfast temperament, doggedness and gentle humor will be sorely missed, but he has left the greatest legacy of all: an example of having lived a life pleasing to God.

Following a well-deserved retirement, he met the protracted challenge of Alzheimer's disease with the grace, patience and fortitude that defined his life and was lovingly cared for by his wife of 66 years, Janet (née Pordon). Married young, they learned to weave love, tolerance, appreciation, forgiveness, faith and joy into an unbreakable bond that became an example for many.

Ron was dearly loved by his wife, Janet; his three daughters, Cheri (Bob) Baker, Kathie (Joe) Gottlieb and Sandi (Luther) Robinson; six grandchildren (Trey [Courtney] Baker, Nicholas [Nicole] Gottlieb, Samantha Baker, Victoria [Matthew] Carroll, Julian Gottlieb and Sarah Gangell [deceased]) and five great grandchildren (Haydn, Declan, Tyler, Tucker and Madelyn).
