Robert 'Bobby' Bush Lewis, 82, of Shallotte, NC, formerly of Webster Springs, WV, peacefully entered his heavenly home to be with our Lord on Friday, June 2, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Bobby was born in Weston, West Virginia, on October 17, 1940. He was the only son of the late Alison Bush Lewis and Christine Iona Jordan Lewis, and was raised alongside his beloved late sister, Patricia Ann.

By trade he was a licensed land surveyor and project manager for 45 years and was well known in his community of Shallotte. Bobby was an avid musician and passionate lay speaker, sharing his love of God through music and exhortation for over 50 years.  He founded the gospel group Bobby Lewis and BLESS with his cherished family.  Bobby was also an active member and dedicated trumpet player at Beach Assembly of God, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Bobby's greatest treasure was his devoted wife of 61 years, Carolyn Lewis. They experienced many adventures and endeavors together, but his greatest joy were always his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory, along with his wife Carolyn, are his children Cheri Skaggs and husband Greg, of Shallotte, NC; Kristi Smith and husband Chris, of Shallotte, NC; Suzi Reece and husband Don of Conway, SC; and Ricky Lewis and wife Sam of Palm City, FL. Grandchildren Tiffany and Justin Pruitt of Shallotte, NC. Josh and Katherine Skaggs of Youngsville, NC. Jay and Hope Skaggs of Ash, NC, Sara, Ally, and Lainie Smith of Shallotte, NC, Donnie Reece and Sophie Reece of Conway, SC, Sean and Dani Hodges of Orlando, FL, Samuel and Sabrina Hodges of Palm City, FL; Great-grandchildren, Eli, Emma, Rowan and Aaron Pruitt, Braden and Hunter Skaggs, Coen Skaggs and Felix Hodges; and many nephews and nieces. The Lewis family invites friends for visitation at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 6, 2023, followed immediately by a celebration of his life and homegoing at 1:00 pm at Beach Assembly of God in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Officiating will be Pastor John Chase.

Pallbearers will be Justin Pruitt, Josh Skaggs, Jay Skaggs, Donnie Reece, Eli Pruitt, and Travis Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Pruitt, Braden Skaggs, and Hunter Skaggs. Interment with Masonic Rights will be at Friendship Cemetery, Berlin, WV, on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 2:00pm.
