Richard John Banchansky, 79, of Bolivia, NC passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at his home following a time of declining health.
Richard, known to friends as Rick, was born in Munhall, Pennsylvania on April 19, 1944 and was a son of the late Michael and Anna Sinansky Banchansky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Banky, a sister, Emily Bachinsky, and brother-in-law, Edward Bachinsky.
Rick was a proud US Army veteran having served in Germany during the Viet Nam war. He was a member of St. Brendan The Navigator Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, he was also a past president of the Winding River HOA, and retired Vice President of Sales with Warner Lambert.
His love of family was immeasurable, he loved to travel, teach, sing, (Rick actually sang on stage with The Temptations, and met Bob Hope). He enjoyed an active lifestyle, and enjoyed golf & loved basketball.
Surviving are his wife of fourteen years, Margaret Ann Schug Banchansky; children of Doreen Banchansky, Jacqueline Shugart and husband Chris, Jennifer Kersh and husband Matthew, Jeffrey Banchansky. Children of Marge, John Morreale and wife Natalie, Melissa Rabinowitz and husband Joseph; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Banky; grandchildren, Grace, Emma, & Taylor Shugart, Noah and Isaac Kersh, Milana, & Matthew Morreale, and Adelina, Juliana, Alexa, Joey, & Gabriella Rabinowitz. A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM in St Brendans Catholic Church with a reception to follow in Brendan Hall.
