Obituary

Rhonda Kay Evans Long, 64, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Monday the nineteenth of April 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rhonda was born in Southport, NC on the sixth of June 1956 to the late William Harold and Vannie Darnella Hewett Evans. Rhonda was a graduate of the Shallotte High School. She was a founding member of Fair Haven Baptist Church. Rhonda loved fishing, gardening tending to her chicken flock and was a exceptional cook. Rhonda will be forever remembered for her kind and gentle nature, and her beautiful smile that could warm and room she entered.

Surviving are her loving husband, Sonny Joseph Long, Jr., a son, William "Lee" Hewett and wife Tina Marie of Lexington, NC; a brother, Richard Evans and wife Kathie of Shallotte; three sisters, Dee Dee E. Sellers and husband George, Jr., Shelly Lynn Evans of Shallotte, Cathy E. Horn and husband Reverend Anthony Horn of Shallotte; nephews, Tanner, Brandon, Gavin and Dakota; a niece, Melissa; two great nieces, Ellie, Tirzah; a great nephew, Cayden and special cousin Brenda Long.

Memorial services will be conducted at three o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday the twenty fourth of April 2021 in the Fair Haven Baptist Church with The Reverend Anthony Horn officiating.

A time of visitation with the family will be on Saturday from two until three o'clock in the afternoon at the church. The wearing of masks and social distancing will be required.
