Patrick Joseph Jones, 79, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026. He was born on September 23, 1946, in

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Patrick was born and raised in Pittsburgh as one of thirteen children — nine boys and four girls — where he learned

the value of family, hard work, and laughter from an early age. Many of his favorite stories involved good-natured

shenanigans with his brother Bernie. Those values stayed with him throughout his life and were reflected in the way

he cared for the people around him.

He lived a life marked by hard work, humor, and a genuine love for family and friends. He built a distinguished

career as an aircraft mechanic, beginning with Eastern Airlines and eventually retiring from United Airlines.

Aviation wasn't just his profession—it was a craft he took great pride in, earning the respect of coworkers

throughout his many years in the industry.

Patrick remained a loyal Steelers fan throughout his life. Win or lose, he proudly cheered for his hometown team

and never missed an opportunity to talk football with family and friends.

Outside of work, Patrick knew how to enjoy life. He loved spending time on the golf course, playing his guitar,

sharing a cold beer with family and friends, and telling jokes that could make anyone laugh. His quick wit, easy

smile, and fun-loving personality made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. Whether he was making

people laugh with one of his stories, strumming a favorite song on his guitar, or watching the Steelers, Patrick had a

gift for bringing people together.

One of Patrick's greatest joys was the love he shared with his beloved wife, Sue. Their happiest moments were often

the simplest—sitting together on the back porch, talking for hours, enjoying each other's company, and appreciating

life's quiet blessings. Their love was built on companionship, conversation, and the comfort of simply being

together. Those who knew them could see how much they enjoyed one another, and those memories will remain a

lasting gift to everyone who loved them.

Above all, Patrick was a devoted husband and proud father. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan “Sue” Jones;

his five children, Kelly (Jeff) Crudele, Patrick (Erin) Jones, Stephen (Philly) Jones, John Paul (Tiphany) Jones, and

Kevin (Susan) Jones; and his cherished blended families, whom he loved and embraced as his own. He was also a

proud grandfather to Austin Crudele; Terrell (Wetlyne) Douglas and Tyler Jones; Drew Jones; and Jasmine Jones

and Xavier Jones, and a proud great-grandfather to Lydia Douglas and Evelyn Douglas. He was preceded in death

by his grandson, Alec Crudele. His love, guidance, and sense of humor will continue to live on through his family

and the many friends whose lives he touched.

Patrick's legacy is one of laughter, dedication, and love. He reminded those around him to work hard, enjoy life's

simple pleasures, and never miss an opportunity to make someone smile. If you knew Patrick, you likely heard him

say, “Never had it so good.” It was more than just a favorite phrase—it reflected his outlook on life. He appreciated

the blessings he had, found joy in the everyday moments, and encouraged others to do the same.

He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved by all who knew him. Though he is no longer with

us, his laughter, music, stories, love of the Steelers, and the words “Never had it so good” will continue to echo in

the hearts of those who loved him.
