Mark Ingle Bobbitt, of Oak Island, North Carolina, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 5, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Bolivia, North Carolina. He was born on October 30, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mark was a godly man whose faith guided his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who loved his family deeply. Mark never met a stranger. He was known for his warmth, sharp mind, quick sense of humor, and strong-willed personality. He was hardworking, dependable, funny, and truly a man’s man.
He loved the outdoors, especially the ocean, and enjoyed fishing, surfing, boating, and spending time on the water with his family. He also loved playing and coaching baseball and was a huge fan of The Beatles. Mark especially enjoyed evening golf cart rides with his wife, Krista, and JoJo, often stopping along the way to talk with everyone he met.
Mark retired after a long career as Regional Sales Director for HealthMor, Inc. He also owned a mattress and CBD store in Taylorsville, North Carolina, where he became well known in the community.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Krista Bobbitt; his three daughters, Elisha Thompson-Boyle, Kelley Augustyniak (Tony), and Michelle Bobbitt; his brother, John Bobbitt; and his cherished grandchildren, Andrew Mark Thompson, Lucas Thompson, Grayson Thompson, and Elleanor Augustyniak. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Russell Bobbitt (Nancy) and their children; Jeffery Bobbitt (Ana) and daughter, Samantha; Paul (Michelle) and their children; Karen (Richard) and their children; and Kevin (Sara) and their children. He also leaves behind his special canine companion, JoJo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kimball Bobbitt, Jr.; his mother, May Ingle Bobbitt; his brother, Kimball Bobbitt; and his sisters-in-law, Kathleen Bobbitt and Peggy Bobbitt.
Mark loved the Lord and found his greatest joy in caring for and being with his family. His faith, love, and devotion to those closest to him will remain his lasting legacy.
In accordance with his wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
The family requests, with gratitude, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Mark’s name to Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter in Southport, NC at https://seabiscuitwildlifeshelter.org/donations.
Mark often said, “The most important day of someone’s life is the day they die,” a belief rooted in the faith that guided his life.
