Obituary

Lynn Carol Errickson, 75, of Carolina Shores, NC, passed away on January 21, 2026, with her loving husband by her side.

Lynn was born in Brooklyn, NY, on December 8, 1950, and was the only child of the late Salvatore and Dorothy Scraba Panettiori.

Lynn earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Akron and taught for many years at St. Francis DeSales and Medina City Schools in Ohio. Her passion was teaching social studies and history to her middle school students. Looking for a midlife change, she and her husband, Cliff, moved to North Carolina and began a new adventure by opening the Sunset Beach Trading Company in Sunset Beach, NC, in 1991. They operated the store for 18 years before retiring to Campobello, SC. There, she always looked forward to their Friday night dinners out with their good friends.

Lynn's lifelong love of animals began with an early job as a vet tech and continued throughout her life. That job brought home her first animals, dogs Snoopy and Daisy, which sparked a lifelong mission to rescue many four-legged friends. In Campobello, she found joy in taking in several horses and donkeys.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Clifford "Cliff" Errickson; two daughters, Kimberlee (Stephen) of New Orleans, LA, and their children, Grace and Claire; and daughter Tracy Hobgood (John) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, and their children, Nathan and Noelle.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Arbor Landing Horizons Memory Care, and Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, Brunswick House for their loving care.

A private Celebration of Life service is being planned for a future date.

The family respectfully requests that donations be made in her name to your favorite animal rescue.
