Lyle Dean Stedt, age 69, of Carolina Shores, NC passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care, "Brunswick House".

Lyle was born in Chicago Heights, IL on September 1, 1954, and was a son of the late Orval and Florence Stedt.

Survivors include his loving life partner, Mary Finley of Carolina Shores; a son, Dustin Stedt; daughters, Sonia Stedt and Leela Sherbon (Justin); three brothers, Jerry Stedt, Dave Stedt (Ruta) and Ellery Stedt; three sisters, Carol Wimberly (Bill), Sue Whelpton (Ken) and Linda Johns (Lamoine); and grandchildren, Colt Stedt, Lucas Woss, Kynsi Sherbon and Bently Sherbon; and many other nieces and nephews.

He worked as a skilled carpenter who was meticulous in his work. And when he wasn't working, the other exceptional talents he was known for were his natural athletic ability to excel to high lengths at any sport he played and his well sought after gourmet cooking. He loved God and rejoiced in his scripture and music. Anyone who knew him would remember his easy going personality and his kind and generous heart. He would fill the room with laughter with his witty sense of humor and had a gift of winning the hearts of anyone he met. Many souls were touched with his loving nature to always build people up and make them feel good about themselves. He will be dearly missed by so many more than words can say.

A celebration of life service will be held in the summer of 2024 in Beecher, Illinois.
