Lucy Cornelia Clark Ridgeway, 71, of Shallotte, NC went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 18, 2023 in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center, Bolivia, NC following a lengthly illness.

Born in Wagram, NC on July 24, 1951, she was a daughter of the late James Willie and Emma Elizabeth Blount Clark. In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nathan W. Ridgeway in 2012, and siblings, James Clark, Henry Clark and Harriett Bell.

Lucy was a member of Old Shallotte Baptist Church, and was a past member of Ocean View Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Shallotte. She loved being a homemaker and raising her children while supporting the love of her life, Nathan in his prosperous electrical business.

Surviving are her daughters, Mary R. Whaley and husband Daniel, Cornelia R. Fulwood and husband Timothy; brothers, Joe Clark and wife Janet, Dan Clark and wife Rhonda; a sister, Emma Hewitt and husband Herman; grandchildren, Victoria Whaley, Nathaniel Whaley, Olivia Whaley, and Kelsey Rose Fulwood; great grandchildren, Kailin Locklear, Miles Whaley along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023 in the Old Shallotte Baptist Church with The Reverend Rory Thigpen, Reverend Landis Lancaster and Reverend Jason Benton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Friday in the church.
