Lawrence L. Lambert, 91, died under hospice care at Brunswick Health and Rehab on February 26, 2023. Lawrence was born November 20, 1932, the youngest of six children born to Luther and Mary Etta Pulliam Lambert. He spent his formative years in Guilford County on the family's tobacco farm. He attended Pleasant Garden Elementary School and Alamance High School.

All five of the Lambert boys served in the US Military. Lawrence spent four years in the US Air Force, half of that time stationed in Hawaii. On returning to Guilford County, Lawrence met Eleanor Jean Clapp, the youngest of J. P. Clapp's four children. They were married August 20, 1956, and were blessed with one daughter, Lauren Leigh Lambert.

Lauren was a singer and an actress who died at age 42 from breast cancer. While Lawrence served as a fireman and then a US Postal employee, Eleanor was a dedicated Physical Education teacher and coach at Grimsley High School.

Eleanor died with Alzheimer's in Greensboro, on August 13, 2013. After five more moves, Lawrence would die in Brunswick County. May he rest in peace and may God bless his caregiver and beloved niece, Margaret M. Causey. Lawrence's ashes along with Lauren's will be scattered in the memorial garden at Congregational UCC, 400 W. Radiance Drive, Greensboro at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 15. The service will be led by the Rev. Julie Peeples and the Rev. John Causey.
