Karen Louise Haas, age 69, of Southport, NC passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center, Bolivia, NC. Born in Columbiana County, Ohio on the thirtieth of November 1952, Karen was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Cora Irene McCosh Brown. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Bruce Wayne Haas in 2004 and numerous siblings.

Karen was an accomplished angler and operated the Lady Fish Guide Service. She won the USAA Inshore Lady Angler of the year in 2000 and was a member of the Oak Island Fishing Club. She dearly loved her family, going out with her friends and fishing.

Surviving are her children, John Scherr of Southport, Yvonne "Buffy" Ganey and husband John of Leland, NC; siblings, Arthur Dale Brown, Alice Brunner; two grandchildren, Marissa Lennon and Taylor Lennon; two great-grandchildren, Caspian Lennon and Finnegan Duguay and a special longtime friend, Eddie Dunlap of Boiling Spring Lakes.

A gathering of family and friends will be announced at a later date.
