Joyce M. Hartnett, 80, of Holden Beach, NC passed away at home on Monday, June 5, 2023.

Raised in Hatboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late William John and Emma Mae Allen Massinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Sheri Ann Hartnett, sister Carol Carter, and husband of fifty-eight years William John Hartnett. Surviving is her loving son, William M. Hartnett; siblings, William Massinger, Robert Massinger, and Susan Massinger Mattes; grandchildren, Jacob Quinn Hartnett, Savannah Welling, Connor Welling, and Dillion Welling.

She retired from GlaxoSmithKline after over nineteen years. Joyce was a loving mother and sister who enjoyed researching and reading about genealogy, dreams and medical support materials.  Joyce would often document her findings in her journals as well as any open spot she could find to write on. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren and speaking with her extended family. She often would tell stories about her life growing up and share them with the people around her. Most recently, Joyce was able to come home and visit with her family in Pennsylvania; something that she had wanted to do for many years.

A passion of Joyce's was the continuation of research for Triple Negative Breast Cancer; in lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in her name be given to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation at https://tnbcfoundation.org/
