Joseph Franklin Cartrette, 61, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

Born in Whiteville, NC on the tenth of July 1960, Joseph was the son of the late Herman A. and Maggie Creech Cartrette. Joe was a retired iron worker who built many telecommunication towers. He loved spending time fishing and listening to his favorite musician, John Prine.

Surviving are a daughter, Laura Cartrette of Little River, SC; two sisters, Tammy Cartrette of Whiteville, NC, Anne Cartrette of Myrtle Beach, SC and his beloved grandson, Brayden Cartrette.

To honor his wishes, no services will be held.

The family requests with gratitude that donations in his name be made to your local humane society.

Joe will be fondly remembered his kind nature and that he had a heart bigger than any ocean.
