In Memory of Diana Marie Templeton

​Diana Marie Templeton, also known as Joana Marie Newton, 68, of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, passed away on February 4, 2026.

​Diana was a creative soul and an entrepreneur, serving as the owner of The Pool Lady LLC. She had a deep love for the arts and spent much of her time painting and jewelry making.

​She was preceded in death by her father, Billy H. Templeton (d. 2020), her mother, Geraldine A. Templeton (d. 2023), and her sister-in-law, Roberta (Bobbi) Templeton. While she lived her life away from her family, she was loved and will be terribly missed.

​​She is survived by her biological children, grandchildren, and siblings: ​Daughter: Ashley L. McCarter of Sunset Beach, NC; ​Grandson: Chris Poplin of North Myrtle Beach, SC; ​Daughter: Patricia Robinson-Eury (husband John) of Clover, SC; ​Grandchildren: Logan, Josh, James, Rachel, and Anna; ​Son: Brad McCarter of South Carolina; ​Grandson: Karson McCarter; ​Son: Greg Johnson of South Carolina; ​Brother: Bill Templeton of Michigan; ​Sister: Martha Stewart of Anderson, SC.

​In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service.

​In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or directly to the family to assist with final expenses.
