Jennette Faye Davis Moore Scoggins, age 79, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center ICU unit following nearly a month of fighting for her life with aspiration pneumonia.

Born in Southport, NC, Jennette was the daughter of the late Harry S. Davis, Sr., and Annie Fulford Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry A. Moore, a brother, Harry S. Davis, Jr., and two sisters, Lois Davis Busche and Erline Atkinson.

Saved at the age of ten, she was a longtime member of Sabbath Home Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, principal of Vacation Bible School, ran her own self-styled bus ministry, taught GA's/RA's, and was very involved in all aspects of children and youth ministry—including music ministry.   "Ms. Jennette" was a long-time piano teacher and church pianist and enjoyed playing the piano for her family to sing in various churches.  She was a life-long promoter of children's programs throughout the community and made sure that her children—and all the children that she could pack into her station wagon--participated in various community Vacation Bible Schools, Christmas plays, Bible studies, etc. throughout the year.  In the 1950s, she helped to start a church in the Boone's Neck Community with a Friday night Bible Study, which became what they all called "The Little Church"—which became "Seashore Fellowship Independent Missionary Baptist Church" and is now known as "Bible Baptist Church."  Ms. Jennette was known throughout the community as an example of virtue, kindness, compassion, and generosity.  Naturally a social butterfly, she spread love to all and remembered nearly everyone she met.

Surviving are a son, Brent A. Moore, and wife Christy of Supply; two daughters, Lydia Moore of Supply; and Adonica Moya, primary caregiver, of the home; eight grandchildren—Brent Moore, Rob Alvarado, Daniel Coyner, Jerry Alvarado, Adam Moore, Rebekah Coyner, Lane Alvarado ,Sydney Moore Helms, and Jennetta Alvarado;  and nine great-grandchildren--Maximus Alvarado, Decimus Coyner, Archer Alvarado, Dale Coyner II, Jaxon Alvarado, Evelyn Moore, Caroline Moore,  Jasmine Alvarado, and Layla Moore;  two nieces (a third passed before her), three nephews, many great-nieces and nephews, and many special family members and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in the Sabbath Home Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in the Sabbath Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM Wednesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be  Brent Moore, Rob Alvarado, Daniel Coyner, Jerry Alvarado, Lane Alvarado, and Randy Dixon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chester Moore, Vincent Busche, Neal Whaley, Zendall Whaley, James Fulford, Van Fulford, Kelly Dane Fulford, and Paul Fulford.
