James David Whaley, 48, of Ash, NC passed away on Wednesday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. David was born in Columbus County, NC on May 19, 1974, to the late Eugene Taylor and Sandra Hewett Whaley. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by a brother, Melvin Whaley; and grandparents, Winfred & Vada Hewett and Herman & Ruth Whaley.

Surviving are a daughter, Cassi Earp of Ash, NC; brothers, William Whaley of Tabor City, NC, Daniel Whaley and wife Mary of Shallotte, NC, Joseph Whaley of Clinton, IO; sisters, Edith Thompson of Conway, SC, Hannah Ivey of Chadbourn, NC and Breanna Taylor of Clarendon, NC.

The family will have a visitation from two until three o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, December 4, 2022, in the New Britton Baptist Church, Ash, NC.

Funeral services will follow at three o'clock in New Britton Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
