James Larry Ganus, Sr., age 67 of Ash, NC passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020 in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC.

Larry was born on the twenty eighth of April 1952 in Brunswick County, NC to Mrs. Ida Mae Smith Ganus of Ash, NC and the late James Arthur Ganus. He was a gentle man that loved spending time farming and enjoyed growing vegetables and fruit that he gave away to family and his many friends. Larry will forever be remembered for his kind nature and willingness to help his fellow man.

Larry attended Longwood Baptist Church and worked as a fabricator with CP&L, now Duke Energy.

Surviving are his son, James Larry Ganus, Jr., and wife Lynsey of Shallotte, NC; his mother Mae Ganus of Ash; a sister, Diane G. Little of Ash; and two grandchildren, Olivia and Owen Ganus.

Services will be conducted from the graveside in the Smith Family Cemetery, Longwood, NC with The Reverend Jimmy Cain officiating. To minimize the health risk to family & friends, the date and time of the service is private due to the Covid-19 virus.

Honorary pallbearers are William Todd and Jimmy Ivey.
