James Curtis (Jimmy) Mintz, age 53 of Artemus, KY and formerly of Holden Beach, NC passed away on Sunday, the twelfth of September 2021 in Barbourville, KY.

Jimmy was born in Dunedin, FL on January 16, 1968, a son of the late James Howard Mintz and is survived by his mother Dorothy Joyce Smith and step-father, Milton Ferrell Smith of Ash, NC. Also preceding him in death is a sister, Tammy Denise Mintz in 1967.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife Kim Mintz, married in January, 2021 the happy couple made their home in Artemus, KY. Also surviving are two sons, James Nathaniel (Nathan) Mintz of Ash, NC, Jonathan Gabriel Mintz of Ash, NC and one granddaughter, Nevaeh Mintz also of North Carolina; two sisters, Connie Mintz Thaler (Andy) of Corbin, KY; Laurie Mintz Null (Jamie) of Glasgow, KY; a brother, Ronnie Mintz (Denise) of Shallotte Point, NC; along with several aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.

In his younger years, Jimmy enjoyed fishing, catching shrimp, crabs and boating in the inlet where he lived and grew up. For decades he worked in the building and construction industry building piers, docks and boat houses among many other things along both coastal North Carolina and South Carolina.

The family will hold a private memorial service on Saturday, September 25, 2021 in the Azor Smith Cemetery, Ash, NC.
