James Dale Atwood, Sr., age 71 of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away on Friday the tenth of September 2021 in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Bolivia, NC.

Born in Rural Hall, NC on the twenty sixth of January 1950, James was a son of the late Herbert and Mary Louise Walker Fie. James was retired from the furniture industry as a broker.

Surviving are his wife Patsy of Laurinburg, NC; sons, Jimbob Atwood of Ocean Isle Beach, Caleb Bell of Lumberton; three daughters, Samantha Locklear (Ricky) Red Springs, Tracy Bell (Kris Bowling) of Supply, NC, Keyla Bell of Huntersville, NC; a brother, Garland Fie (Linda); grandchildren, Ricky Allen Locklear, Allyson Locklear, Christian Harris, Cydnee Harris, Justin Locklear, Evan Bowling; great grandchildren, Alaina Maynor, Jersei Oxendine and very special friends, Derek Watkins, Michelle DeMasi and Hank Craven.

Funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday the twelfth of September 2021 in the Shepherd Assembly Church, 6720 Old Shallotte Road, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Derek Watkins, Ricky Allen Locklear, Hank Craven, Joseph Bell, Brice Bell & Kris Bowling. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Ballard and Ronnie Locklear.
