James Arthur "Ed-Boy" Galloway, 89, of Varnamtown, NC passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at his home.

Born in Varnamtown on November 6, 1932, Ed was a son of the late Jimmy Lorenzo and Margaret Hewett Galloway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Rose Bowling Galloway, a son, Timothy Wayne Galloway, a sister, Allene Huddleston, and two brothers, John "Buster" Galloway and Kermit Galloway.

Ed was a lifelong commercial fisherman and net builder. He worked the rivers and shrimped from North Carolina to Key West, FL, Gulfport, MI and Freeport, TX. He was a longtime member of Gospel Center Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, James Galloway of Varnamtown, Terry Galloway and wife Jane of Grandfather Mountain, NC; two daughters, Sheila Kuigre and husband Alex, Octavia Galloway both of Varnamtown; a sister, Anna Brady of Supply, NC; two sisters-in-law, Betty Galloway, Evie Bowling; brother-in-law, Sam Bowling and wife Linda; grandchildren, Valirie Lewis and husband Jason, Steven Galloway and wife Lily, Alyxandra Ingram and husband Norman, August Kuigre and wife Ashley, Carter Galloway; Great Grandchildren, Jacob & Liam Lewis, Logan & Ally Kuigre, Paul, Andrew, Sarah and Noah Ingram.

Funeral services will be conducted at three o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, March 10, 2022, in the Gospel Center Baptist Church with The Reverend Michael Hewett, The Reverend Foyd Bennett and The Reverend Charles Drew officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will follow in the Gospel Center Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be August Kuigre, Steven Galloway, Norman Ingram, Jason Lewis, Bradley Walker and Jay Howard Robinson.
