Irvin Dean Bates, Jr., age 79, of Leland, NC passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.

Born in Lexington, NC on the eighth of January 1943, Irvin was a son of the late Irvin D. Bates, Sr., and Molly Lou Crouse Bates. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandra and a son, Tony Bates. Irvin was a plant manager for Wilbert Burial Vault Company before his retirement several years ago.

Surviving are a son Todd Bates; a daughter, Ravonda B. Hobbs (Alan); a granddaughter, Claudia Hobbs; two grandsons, Cody and Terry Bates.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
