George Quaranta, 73 of Leland passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at home. Born in Newark, New Jersey he lived most of his life in Metuchen, New Jersey until 2019 when George and his wife followed their dreams and moved into a beautiful home in Leland, NC.

George was a 1968 graduate of J.P. Stevens High School. He worked for Edison Board of Education as a grounds keeper and custodian.

George is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Raczkiewicz and their dog Georgia; his sister Claire Ogle and husband Jerry and their 3 children and 7 grandchildren; his sister Joyce and Rob Busch; his sister Janet Dingfeld and husband Jeff and their daughter Samantha; his brother Ray Quaranta and wife Karen and their 2 children - Jill and her husband Justin and Ray.

George enjoyed golfing, skiing and sharing wonderful meals with friends and family. Even through past few years when he wasn't able to do all the things he enjoyed, his fun loving personality made those around him smile! George was such a sweet, wonderful person and the world is a lesser place without him.

A Celebration of Life will be held for close family and friends at a later date in New Jersey.
